VEX Robotics World Championship will return to Louisville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Celebrating a world-class competition coming to Louisville in the spring that has nothing to do with horses.

This one is all about robotics.

Gov. Matt Bevin joined business leaders to celebrate the return of the VEX Robotics World Championship. It attracts more than 1,000 teams of students from 30 different countries hoping to win.

Vex teams from John, North win state title

  Seven Hardin County high school teams qualified this weekend for the Vex Robotics World Championships in April after winning the state tournament.

North Hardin 4104A and John Hardin 2886B formed an alliance to win the state championship. In the final match, they squared off against 6135H and 6135W from         Central Hardin, which took second place.

Team 6135W received the excellence award and qualified for worlds.

New program promotes STEM initiatives in JROTC programs

RADCLIFF, Ky. (Dec. 1, 2017) -- Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps programs across the 7th Brigade footprint are receiving early Christmas presents. They aren't toys in a traditional sense, but to the engineering-minded students at the schools, the Vex Robotics kits the brigade is providing will provide hours of fun and learning.

   As international elementary, middle and high school teams travel to Louisville for the VEX Robotics Competition World Championship this week, 32 visiting students from Singapore stopped Tuesday in Elizabethtown to play unique games of robotics basketball.

Hardin County schools dominate state VEX robotics competition

    With a dominant final round including a last-minute lift, three Hardin County teams took the state championship at Saturday’s Kentucky State VEX Robotics High School Championship.
